The Szeri lab is a subgroup of Genome Stability Research Group at Institute of Enzymology, Research Centre for Natural Sciences, Budapest, Hungary. The Szerilab focuses on understanding the complex molecular mechanisms of ectopic mineralization in rare hereditary disorders and multifactorial diseases. Besides unraveling physiological processes leading to or inhibiting the calcification of soft tissues, we seek therapeutic approaches to prevent, alleviate, or resolve ectopic mineralization.

Applying in vitro and in vivo techniques, such as Cell and Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, primary cell cultures, in vivo or ex vivo rodent models.
Rare hereditary diseases leading to ectopic mineralization:
Pseudoxanthoma elasticum and Generalized Arterial Calcification of Infancy
